Health Tip Of The Week

It's Men's Health Week, and it's time to remind the men in our lives to stay healthy.

Men should particularly watch out for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
These conditions can cause serious health problems. including some degree of erectile dysfunction (impotence).
What many men don’t realize is that erectile dysfunction is often a symptom of another health problem. In fact, any condition that affects blood flow, whether it is medical, physical or a lifestyle choice, could have an impact on your erectile function. These include

Smoking

Lack of exercise

Obesity

Heavy drinking

Side effects from medication

Lack of sleep

Stress

Depression

Spinal cord injury

Prostate surgery

Stay healthy and stay active! Consult with your healthcare professional.
While Viagra is most commonly known as a treatment for erectile dysfunction, it is
also often prescribed to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).  A resent report states that since Viagra was excluded from Medicare drug coverage, taxpayers have been
paying five times as much for a similar drug, Revatio, to treat PAH. The recommended dosage of Revatio for patients with PAH costs $6,750 per month while the same regimen
of Viagra is $1,350 a year.
